Jackson Municipal Court

The Jackson Alabama Municipal Court is a court that upholds the laws and regulations of the city of Jackson. As a court of limited jurisdiction, it holds the power to hear and adjudicate cases that arise within the city limits involving a range of offenses, including city ordinances, traffic violations, and misdemeanors.

The Municipal Judge, who is appointed by the city council, oversees the court proceedings. From presiding over the court, ensuring that all decisions remain fair and impartial, to issuing verdicts and judgments, the judge is an essential part of the court’s operation.

Alongside the Municipal Judge, the court clerk plays a vital role in keeping records on all cases and assisting in administering court proceedings.

Overall, the court aims to provide residents with justice and maintain public safety by making sure that all individuals within the city abide by the city’s laws and regulations. Additionally, the court handles payments of fines and fees related to court cases, enabling people to quickly resolve legal issues.

The Jackson Municipal Court is located at 324 Commerce Street, next door to the Police Department. For information, you can call Court Clerk Hilda Ott at 251-246-5589 Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
